The www.g11.us web site is now hosted in the cloud, and is driven by Drupal 8.

The old hardware will be decommissioned in the coming days.

G11.us Email

Webmail can be accessed at: https://www.g11.us/webmail. This new environment runs Roundcube instead of Squirrelmail. I find it has a better-looking interface.

As for the email server itself, mail is now transmitted and received from mail.g11.us. The web and mail functions have been split into two separate servers, unlike the previous configuration where they shared a single box.

Settings for Thunderbird

Update the old G11 account to point to the new server:

• Settings for checking mail (incoming server):
  • Server Name: mail.g11.us
  • Port: 993
  • Connection Security: SSL/TLS
  • Authentication Method: Normal password
• Settings for sending mail (outgoing server)
  • Server Name: mail.g11.us
  • Port: 587
  • Connection Security: STARTTLS
  • Authentication Method: Normal password

Since SSL/TLS encrypts the entire session, sending the password over that encrypted connection as plaintext means the password is also encrypted over the wire.
